Tragic: 7-year-old who fell from balcony in Ashdod succumbs to injuries

Assuta Hospital in Ashdod updated on Sunday night that, despite the efforts of the doctors, a seven-year-old boy, Ze”ev Katz, who fell from a balcony in the city about a week ago, died of his injuries.
The boy was a student of the “Lev Simcha” Talmud Torah of Gur Hasidism in the city. Since he fell from the balcony of his home last week, he had been hospitalized in Assuta Hospital in serious condition.
In the last week, chapters of Psalms were recited as his family prayed for his recovery. Unfortunately, on Sunday he was pronounced dead in the children’s intensive care unit at Assuta Hospital. His relatives recited prayers at his bedside.
The boy is the grandson of Rabbi Shaul Dov Wallach, one of the leading rabbis in the city.
It appears that the child fell after the glass partition of a balcony was removed to allow for the entry of building materials in preparation for a planned renovation of the apartment.
Following the incident, the police opened an investigation and even arrested one person on suspicion of negligence.
