Ben-Gvir at field HQ: ‘The anarchists want to burn down Tel Aviv’

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir arrived on Saturday evening at the police field headquarters in Tel Aviv to closely watch over the police’s conduct during the evening’s anti-judicial reform demonstration.
“I came to apply policy. I don’t intend to apologize, certainly not to the anarchists who want to burn the state of Tel Aviv.
I made the policy. I have a lot of appreciation for the Commissioner, who is upholding my policy. Whoever incites, whoever instigates, whoever blocks main transportation arteries, whoever attacks police officers, we need to deal with them to the most severe extent of the law. That’s what I told the police. I will not tolerate any harm to a policeman or woman.”

During the Tel Aviv demonstration, physicist Dr. Shikma Shwartzman-Bressler responded to Ben-Gvir’s statement: “So the convicted terror supporter, Itamar Ben-Gvir, came to the field HQ here nearby. He probably wants to see up close, for the first time in his racist life, what patriotic Israelis look like. Let us clarify to him that we don’t tolerate terror supporters here.”
For the ninth week in a row, thousands came out to protest the government’s judicial reform plan in Tel Aviv and other cities across the country. According to the organizers, demonstrations are being held at 95 different locations, including Ashdod, Haifa, Be’er Sheva, Efrat, Netanya, and Beit Shemesh.
